Cover: Hey, Mod Gorilla Boss! Watch those hands!Cover Artist: Carmine Infantino.
Orange-clad superhero, Animal-Man, who can absorb the powers of animals, stumbles (or rather hops, because he just absorbed the powers of a kangaroo) on to a robbery commited by the Mod Gorilla Boss. When the Mod Gorilla Boss grabs Animal-Man, and he doesn't absorb gorilla powers, Animal-Man comes to the conclusion that this bizarrely-dressed talking gorilla isn't a real gorilla! Look out, Batman, Animal-Man's detective skills could put you out of business! Animal-Man discovers that the Mod Gorilla Boss is just a plain old Mod Human Boss who injected himself with some sort of Gorilla Syrum and wears silly clothes. So, Animal-Man allows the Mod Gorilla Boss to beat him up for a few pages, until the Gorilla Syrum wears off, and the Mod Gorilla Boss turns back to a normal human. "Clever work, A-Man!" says a police officer. Yes, it takes a real genius of a superhero to allow himself to be beaten senseless until the villain gets tired.
