Cover: What!?! Superman has a son? And he can turn into a gorilla? Cool!Cover Artist: Curt Swan.
Superman's old Nobel Prize winning pal, Dr. Jan Nagy, dies, and within the first page of the comic, makes Superman the legal guardian of his cranky son. Whew! Glad we clear this whole "Superman's son" crap up quick! Gregor, Superman's son, doesn't seem to like Superman. "I hate you, Superman! If I had my way, I'd tear you apart!" says Gregor. "Why don't be rediculous, Gregor," says the will-reading lawyer, "You'd have to be a super-gorilla to do that!" So, with that idea in mind, Gregor runs off and turns into a gorilla! It seems that Gregor turns into animals uncontrollably, and all because of being near radioactive steam created accidentally by one of his father's experiments gone wrong. Superman saved young Gregor-- but not quick enough for the boy's liking. He gained his animal-transmutation powers, and blames Superman for ruining his life! Through the rest of the comic, he never turns into a gorilla again, so I lost interest. However, for some goof-ball reason, Gregor dies at the end of the issue, leaving Superman's life free from the complications that parenting a shape-shifting son brings.
